This adorable puppy has severe mange and is malnourished and wounded, but he still persists!

 Without a strong spirit, Antonio's absolutely amazing recovery would not have been possible.

His body had been destroyed by advanced mange, malnutrition had made him even weaker, and as a final blow, a major wound between his shoulders had developed a maggot infestation. We weren't sure if the combination of these excruciatingly painful circumstances had crushed both his spirit and his will to fight.

We rescued a terribly wounded dog dying from mange and starvation...

We had to use a net to catch him in case he ran away.

We gave him pain medication.

Tomorrow we would be able to remove the maggots.

We didn't know if we could save his life, but we knew we could give him comfort.

We would clean and re-bandage his wound every day until he healed.

Now he was starting to relax.

Treating his mange was also urgent.

In week 4 His wound was healing but his fur hadn't grown back.

In week 6.
